Thermo Tent

I’m 26 years old and haven’t actually slept in a tent for a couple years now. It’s a bit depressing, considering I actually love camping. Hanging out under the stars, grilling fresh fish for dinner and killing your stomach with s’mores; The American Dream. Ok, maybe not the American Dream, but it’s a lot of fun, and we should all do it more. I recently connected on Twitter with a company from Ireland who sells tents and now I can’t stop thinking about camping. This post is a shout-out to those guys across the pond trying to make their dream of better camping a reality.

Odds are you’ve slept in a tent. Unless it was set up in your basement, you’ve probably also experienced the rude awakening of the sun baking you inside your tent, or the bitter cold of the sun getting more sleep than you can hope to achieve. Enter Themo Tent: the world’s very first properly (thermally & acoustically) insulated tent. I get that the majority of people who go “camping” are not going to be interested in getting one of these. However, if you are an avid outdoorsman and hope to spend a lot of time sleeping in tents, you should definitely give them a look.

Imagine being at a campsite and not having your private conversations echoing across the campground. Or being out in the wild for weeks on end with a dependable shelter that allows you to pack less clothing because your tent can efficiently use the air already inside your tent to help keep you warm. I see tents all the time that are trying to be the smallest, most portable tent on the market. It’s nice to see a product coming out that just wants to be the best tent on the market.

Not only are these tents awesome for people like me, Thermo Tent wants to implement these into disaster relief areas to give refugees as decent place to live while they put their lives back together. I’ve never met these guys, but I like what they are up to. If it sounds like something you would be interested in, be sure to check them out across the web @thermotents, ThermoTents.com, and head to their recently launched Kickstarter to help them make this a reality.
