The Valhalla of Lost Baggage

Either you have experienced or you know someone who has. Lost baggage. It’s not such a big deal to come home without a few outfits, but losing them on your outbound light can be stressful. Sometimes the airline finds your stuff, sometimes they dont, and sometimes people just don’t claim it! So what happens to all the that unclaimed baggage? It gets purchased and resold in the thrift shop to end all thrift shops: Unclaimed Baggage Center. Located in Scottsboro, Alabama, the Unclaimed Baggage Center is a literal treasure trove of international trinkets and antiquities. What does this mean for you? You can go treasure hunting in Alabama! Keep in mind, if someone thought these things were important enough to bring back from their trips, there is a good chance it could be worth some money. The store has come across things as wild as live rattlesnakes and shrunken heads to full suits of armor and a platinum Rolex. The best part is, the inventory changes and grows daily as new shipments arrive. If the trek seems a bit too far to make, you can find them on eBay and get some good deals on quality products. I recently purchased a Kindle Paperwhite in like new condition for just $50.

If nothing else, maybe it’s time to reconsider whether or not you should be checking that platinum Rolex, or you know, just wearing it on the plane.
