It’s time for you to visit Cuba. That’s all there is to it. Cuba, for decades, has been inaccessible to American tourism. It was unfortunate situation that has been mending over time and will hopefully resolve itself completely, but to be safe, YOU NEED TO GO NOW! Cuba is currently devoid of American capitalism, meaning you are going to get as pure of an experience that you can ever hope to. Explore Cuba as the beautiful island that it is. Learn the culture the way it’s been lived, not through the lens of McDonald’s and Walmart. Eat truly authentic meals with authentic people. Smoke a Cuban cigar straight from the hand-rolled factory. Watch baseball from one of the best and most inspired nations on Earth!
With diplomatic relations in a constant state of flux, it’s possible that the opportunity for Americans to travel there may pass and you will have to wait another decade. It’s not all fun and games, though. Because of their relationship with the US, special visas are required for visitors that do not have family in Cuba. This means that it’s not going to be all beaches and dreams, but you will be expected to participate in educational, people-to-people activities while you are there. The good news? All of the awesome things listed above meet the criteria.
